Myanmar is cut from the worldwide Internet

28 September 2007  |  Published in Internet

According to the news report by French newspaper Le Monde, Myanmar is cut from the worldwide Internet. Officially, the version is that a submarine cable has been damaged.  Other sources say that it was done on purpose after orders from the military.

Of course, any link between this cut and the current demonstrations in Rangoon are totally fortuitous. It is also fortuitous that it happens at the same time a group of Danish activists have put a Myanmar general for sale for 1 million dollars on Ebay.
